The assett of community

This garden is 100% organic, here in San Marcos Texas at an apartment complex.

Fall gardens include kale, brussel sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and many other types of greens.
The members of the community came together to build it.

Before you buy new...

Upon the breaking of an everyday appliance, such as the treasured coffee maker, whats the next best choice? Before you buy new, try calling the company and see what their response is.
Many times, you can get a new one- free of charge, just by making the call. I tell this story from experience. My Mr. Coffee broke, and with a quick inquiry via telephone, they sent me a new one in the mail. Before you buy a new thing just because you think you have to, send a complaint to the company and you might be suprised. It will keep your wallet happier too.

Classy Sunday

As the world carries on into new realms of technology and a bigger, more varied and cheaper selection of stuff, the options of decorating are endless. Some things however, are timeless. I always find myself reflecting back to these items in a decorating endeavor or shopping spree.

                                     1)A victorian-era pitcher and bowl
Perfect for a bathroom, espesially a guest bathroom. You can find these in classic white at retail shops or antique ones in milk glass or enamel.

2) Jars
Perfect for storing pasta, rice and flour in the kitchen, or cotton balls in the bathroom. Your things can be displayed beautifully in a glass jar. You can find mason jars and classic ball jars at yard sales and antique stores, or just even re-use your own that came with pasta sauce or pickles.Of course, an old jar always makes a great cup too.

3)Open Shelving
Opening up a cabinet is a great way to open up a space. You can open up your whole kitchen or bathroom or just small spaces. Its a great way to display your beautiful posessions.

4)Flowers
Fresh flowers are the most gorgeous thing in the world and if you dont have a garden, splurge on a seasonal bouquet every once and a while. You can also place individual stems in a small vase and place them from room to room. You can even decorate a whole wall with flowers.

5)Let the light in
I borrow this last classic from nature. As long as you have windows, its free. In the daytime, try to turn off the lights and open as many windows as possible. Its almost like living outdoors. Now if only we could all open our windows to Paris like this below...

Whatever your style, these classics are sure to make your space more beautiful.
